Water: The soil should be kept slightly moist at all times and never allowed to dry out completely. Use mineral water. Allow the top of the soil to dry out to the touch before watering again.

Nutrients/Fertilizer: Once a month, high in phosphorus to enhance plant immunity and strong stem and leaves.

Light: For flowering gardenia need bright, indirect light (direct sunlight will scorch the leaves and flowers). Low light will slow growth and produce fewer, smaller flowers.
